Here Come the Kiddos!

Tomorrow starts a brand new school year, and boy will it be a year of many changes! At my school this year we have a new principal, assistant principal, Math Achievement Advisor, and Admin. Secretary. It took me all spring and most of the summer to try and wrap my head around all this change! During the summer while I was teaching summer school and working at district office, I got to know many of the new faces coming to school. I am the type of person that hates change, but so far our new school members have brought wonderful ideas, energy, and enthusiasm to our campus. It's always hard to see people that mean so much to you leave to take on new adventures, but I think I am finally feeling ready for a new, energized fresh start this year!

This year I also have a new grade level! Think of my blog now, as "Second Grade Brain Sprinkles!" I'm excited for a new challenge, and will be happy to have many of my students from last year. But because I have so many of the same kiddos, trying to figure out what activities to do this first week of school was quite a challenge! I can't just pull out my usual first week plans. Instead, I loaded up on TPT back to school units and crafts, and I know my kids will love it all.

I hope that you are all enjoying a relaxing Sunday evening! If you have already started school, have a great week! If you are lucky enough to still be on vacation, enjoy every last minute!

Here are some back to school freebies to help get you excited about a new school year! Free for today only! Go grab them!

Classroom Helpers

I made these monthly behavior charts to match my behavior management clip chart. Hopefully it is something you can use with your kiddos too! Both these freebies are available to download in my TPT store, for today only!

  1. Hey Melanie - I have to tell you how much I LOVE your Dr. Seuss freebies in Teacherspayteachers. And THANK you! I just decorated my classroom with a Dr. Seuss theme and tagged your items and gave you credit on my blog.

  3. Hello! I could have sworn I've been to this blog before but after reading through some of the post I realized it's new to me.
Anyhow, I'm definitely happy I found it and I'll be book-marking and checking back frequently!
